Technically this may be almost a red sparkling wine, but it is so absolutely unique and so appreciated by Rosé drinkers that an exception has to be made! A beautiful garnet colour, it is made from the rich Brachetto grape in one of Italy's smallest production zones D.O.C.G. in the Piedmont region. It is a remarkable slightly sweet sparkling wine with a long history in harmony with the environment. Another remarkable feature is the alcohol content of only 7%
It's hard to know where to begin with such a special wine. It is filled with raspberry and strawberry flavour with bubbles which are light and fizzy. Served with chocolate deserts this is a showstopper. As a wine match for chocolate in any form this is top of our list. A less usual combination with meat dishes too, your guests are sure to comment. It's best to take it out of the fridge a little in advance and serve at around 10 to 12 C.
