A marvellous Bandol Rosé from this famous region. Chateau Romassan, acquired by the Ott family in 1956 the vineyard lies at the foot of the pretty village of Le Castellet in the heart of the Bandol appellation. Soils here comprise limestone, sandstone and marl and benefit from the high stone content with vines planted into vast terraces giving varying exposures. The fermentation takes place under careful temperature control and benefits from the lengthy aging in oak characteristic of Ott wines. Grapes are the, flavoursome and robust, Mourvedre, some silky Cinsault and a little Grenache.
A Pale pink robe with tints of wild rose. The first aromas are complex and light, with elegant notes of passion fruit and citrus. With a swirl or two, the nose develops into fresh, spicy, and slightly aniseed notes. Taste is smooth and very lively with a balance of finesse and complexity. Hints of white peach and liquorice enhanced by aromas of citrus zest.
