This Rosado from Bodegas Taron is a traditional `clarete`, a 50/50 blend of white and red grapes. In this case it is a blend of Viura and Garnacha. As the winery and vineyards are situated in the northern point of Rioja Alta, traditionally the weather was not warm enough to make fully ripe red grapes so the dilute red wine was mixed with white to create a pale rose!
